Mariaan completed her studies at the North-West University in Potchefstroom and joined VDT in 2024 as a Candidate Attorney where she rotated in the Property Department, the Litigation Department and the Commercial Department.
Mariaan has been retained in the Commercial Law Department, which specialises in Company Law, Tax Law, Trust Law, Estate Planning, Contracts, Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and various other commercial transactions.
Mariaan has a keen interest in the drafting and interpretation of commercial contracts. She enjoys the strategic and problem-solving aspects of this field, where careful analysis and precise wording play a crucial role in managing risk and facilitating successful business transactions.
Outside of work, Mariaan enjoys playing Action Netball with friends, being outdoors with her dog, and spending time with friends and family around a braai fire.
